The Walter Scoring On Friday August 16th we will play 18Holes of Better Ball format utilizing 90 of a players handicap Followed by 9Holes of Alternate shot format on the Front Nine utilizing a combined 50 team handicap The team handicap will be cut in half for 9Holes half shots will apply The Walter

The Walter Ties for Championship Ties for Championship will be broken by a sudden death playoff beginning on the 1st hole immediately following the completion of play Utilizing Alternate shot format 50 combined handicap lowest score will determine the Champions Shots will apply Numbers will be drawn to determine order of play In the event of a tie play will continue on the 1st until a Champion is determined The Walter

The Walter Ties for Flight Winners Ties for Flight Winners will be broken by your 9Hole Alternate Shot score If a tie remains a Chip Off will occur on the 18th green immediately following the completion of play The closest to the hole will determine the Flight Winner Numbers will be drawn to determine order of play Team A will play in the 1st and 4th positions and Team B will play in the 2nd and 3rd positions The Walter

The Walter Team Wager Calcutta and Flight Wagering Teams may purchase a Team Wager prior to teeing off Friday for 100 This wager will be divided into Calcutta wagering and Flight Wagering The Calcutta Wager is based on 50 of the Team Wager Upon the completion of play the monies collected will be paid out to the 1st 2nd 3rd overall place teams 50 30 and 20 respectively The Flight Wager is based on 50 of the Team Wager Upon the completion of play the monies collected within the Flights will be paid out to the 1st and 2nd place teams within the Flights 60 and 40 respectively In the event of a tie all monies will be split respectively The Walter

The Walter Net Skins Wagering Teams may purchase their own Team prior to teeing off Friday for 40 This wager is based on your Team s Net Score per hole on Friday s Better Ball portion The Team that finishes with the lowest Net Score on a hole amongst all Teams The low score must be unique among all scores no ties The Walter

The Walter Pot of Gold Hole 16 You may wager 10 Friday on 16th hole All monies collected will be divided amongst all Players who s ball has finished within the length of the flagpole on Friday If no one s ball finishes within the length of the flagpole then the pot will go to the Player who s ball has finished closest to the hole The Walter

The Walter Rules of Play 1 WHITE Tee Event with a handicap reduction if played from RED SILVER 2 OUT OF BOUNDS Defined by white stakes or lines and the inside edge of any fence post at ground level which borders the property A ball coming to rest on or beyond a public road is out of bounds Reference Rule 18 3 PENALTY AREAS Defined by red stakes or lines Reference Rule 17 4 EMBEDDED BALL Anywhere in the general area a ball which is embedded in its own pitch mark may be lifted without penalty cleaned and dropped within one club length of the reference point Reference Rule 16 3 Exception for a player s ball embedded in a Penalty Area the player must proceed under Rule 17 as above 5 FREE DROP FROM ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS AS FOLLOWS All cart paths water outlets flowerbeds practice green shelters bridges animal holes French drains ground under repair and immovable obstructions Find the nearest point of complete relief reference point and drop the ball within one club length no nearer the hole Reference Rule 16 1b FRENCH DRAINS located throughout the course in both fairway and rough can be determined by probing for and locating stones under the surface GROUND UNDER REPAIR Areas by group discretion including newly sodded seeded areas STAKED TREES and their supporting wires and stakes are considered immovable obstructions TREE STUMPS Newly cut down trees and circular areas of mulch or new sod for former trees 6 CLUBHOUSE NETTING In addition to relief for interference under Rule 16 1b for the lie of the ball stance and area of intended swing if the protective netting and post are on the player s line of play free drop using the designated Drop Zone located to the fairway side of netting 7 SUSPENSION OF PLAY if it becomes necessary to suspend play the signal for suspension will be as follows a In a dangerous situation the signal to suspend play is one prolonged blast of the air horn Players must immediately seek shelter b In non dangerous situation i e darkness fog the signal to suspend play will be three short blasts of the air horn c The signal for resumption of play will be two 2 consecutive air horn blasts repeated 8 SPRINKLER HEADS NEAR THE PUTTING GREEN If a player s ball lies in the closely mown area in addition to the types of interference described in 5 above interference also exists if a sprinkler head is on the player s line of play is within two club lengths of the putting green and is within two club lengths of the ball The player may take relief under Rule 16 1b by finding the nearest point of complete relief and dropping within one club length Exception There is no relief under this Local Rule if the player chooses a line of play that is clearly unreasonable 9 DOUBT AS TO PROCEDURE Rule 20 1c if in doubt of any rule or procedure consult your playing partners If still in doubt play 2 balls record both scores and must report situation when returning scorecard Decision will be made at the completion of play by the Rules Committee The Walter
